Alright, here’s a challenge: create a brand for a senior portrait photographer that is equally cool with the ladies and the gents. How do you walk that fine line? That’s exactly the challenge that Stephanie Newbold presented to us back in May. For inspiration, we decided to do some digging and research the meaning of Stephanie’s name. We discovered that it is derived from the greek for crown or garland. Turns out, Stephanie has always loved the image of the crowned heart (any claddagh fans out there?) and loved the idea of having a design that held meaning for her … um, score! And while hearts are overly feminine, we still wanted something for the boys. Turns out, Stephanie has a little pirate blood running through her veins – she and her hubby fly a jolly roger on their boat (YARRRR! and such), so we went with a skull and crossbones design to serve as second primary logo for the boys side of her business.
There’s just so much awesome mixed into this brand – the logos, the colors, the secondary marks and illustrations (did you see that kickass crest design?) and some stunning border patterns and backgrounds. Then, there’s Stephanie, who has been such an incredible client. We’re not sure how we do it, but we are on a serious winning streak with our clients. We’re currently working on her blogsite and can’t wait to share that with you, but we wanted to post this (so much fun!) … check out the reaction to her new brand:
