BRAIZEN is looking for a skilled design intern to join our team. Okay, before you start rolling your eyes at the thought of another design firm exploiting your skills in between coffee runs and trips to the dry cleaners, here are some things to think about.

First, we aren’t looking for a mobile barista or an errand grunt. We are looking for a young designer seeking the opportunity to improve his or her portfolio whilst working on real design jobs. Second, our internships are designed to help develop new talent to prepare them for a career in branding and design work. Fourthly (or is that thirdly … oh, who cares), we pay. Money. Actual money.

We’ll like to have you in the office between 8 and 16 hours per week. So, how bout them apples? Finally, and most awesomely, is that there is the opportunity that the right intern could become a permanent part of the Braizen team! So, if you have strong graphic design skills and experience with Illustrator, Photoshop, WordPress, the occasional beer at work, and general awesomeness, we are pretty damn sure you’d fit right in! What made this project such a great experience was the level of excitement throughout. Amanda was fully committed to the process and demonstrated this through her infectious positive spirit. There were so many wonderful moments, including one that led to the quip, “I just paid someone’s salary at Paper Source!” after Amanda got a bit carried away picking out samples for packaging ideas. This kind of enthusiasm has translated into a stunning new look for Amanda that has already sent her (and our own) social medial outlets into a delightful flutter of ooohs and aaahhs. Amazingly, this is just the beginning as we are currently working on some fantastic collateral pieces for our fabulous new friend. Stay tuned!

The move was a quick one and we had to act fast. We had just finished designing Blushd (Psst, the Blushd site also went live this morning) when she gave us the news that she would be heading to Paris. She needed a new brand and all the bells and whistles, stat. We knew the design had to be sophisticated and refined AND be true to Stacy’s own aesthetic. Furthermore, we wanted to make sure folks knew they were working with THE Stacy Reeves.

As is always the case with Stacy, the work was easy. We adore her – she is our oldest and dearest client and we are incredibly excited for her and her new beginnings in France. Stay tuned for more from L’amour de Paris – we know Stacy is going to forever change the photography business in Paris. Her love of what she does paired with her love of all things French, make this new endeavor a match made in small business heaven.

Introducing, L’amour de Paris.

I have a huge passion for all things Parisian. I just love the atmosphere and romance of the city, I love how it attracts lovers from all over the world, and I wanted that to come through in my brand. When I talked with Ashley and her team, I told them that I really wanted a pale, muted color scheme, something reminiscent of a vintage map. I also wanted something that was elegant and romantic, and I wanted to embrace things that were classically Parisian (such as the Eiffel Tower) but in a more refined way. Ashley came up with two amazing typography-based logos that I fell head over heels in love with, and she combined them with some travel-inspired elements that blended together perfectly. I just adore my brand – I can’t stop looking at my website, I love it so much! I want to stamp my logo on everything I can get my hands on!

Ashley and her amazing team have taken me through a number of brands and businesses, and even though my style has changed so much over the years, they continue to have an uncanny knack for knowing exactly what look and message I want to achieve, even when I don’t always know it myself. I really love how Braizen keeps me in the loop throughout the entire design process, so I never have to worry if we’re on the same wavelength. I feel like they have really refined their system to make it as efficient and effective as possible, which I especially appreciate as a busy business owner. However, what I love most about Braizen is how professional and classic their work is. They designed my first brand almost five years ago, and I still love it as much today as I did back then, which is a very rare thing in an industry where people change their brands almost as often as they change their clothes. The knowledge that I can trust Braizen to give me something that will be a long-term commitment makes me feel so much better about investing in their services. However it does make me want to keep starting new businesses so I can keep coming back and working with them every single year!       ~Stacy Reeves
